1. My parents used to sing me the name game when I was an infant; “Andrea, Andrea, Bo-Bandrea….”. The Bo part stuck and 25 years later it’s still in regular use by family and friends.
2. Since discovering DECA in High School, I’ve been focused on having a successful career in business. My mom used to tell her friends that I was a ‘working girl’ (when asked whether or not I was married) until someone kindly let her know that phrase implies something different than what she means.
3. I grew up in a family that loves to cook and experiment in international cuisine. My favorite meal is veal piccata (I know, judge away) and when dining out I particularly enjoy Brazilian and Peruvian food.
4. In elementary school my dad read The Hobbit to my sister and me and since then reading has been an integral part of my life. My goal is to read every book on the BBC’s top 100 list by 2012.
5. My parents are retired and love to travel. To my benefit, they don’t mind when I tag along.
6. I grew up golfing and was fairly competent at the sport until I took a 5 year hiatus after competing in High School. After starting up again I learned that golfing is NOT like riding a bike and I’m now re-learning my swing.
7. I love to volunteer, particularly with children. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Big Brothers Big Sisters as a mentor for the past few years and couldn’t imagine spending my free time doing anything else.
8. Unlike 90% of the population in Colorado I don’t participate in triathlons, camp, ski, or climb 14er’s (although I have climbed 1 and it was really, really hard). I still love the outdoors but usually from the perspective of a cabin deck.
